yesiree, i have seen many mutant ears of corn in my days sowing and reaping, but that one sure takes the kernel...i mean the cake. yesiree.

Each silk at the top of the ear did not get pointed by the assets at the top of the corn plant for various reasons. Drought and heat affect pollination. For every silk there is a developing kernel or seed at the end of it. There wasn't as many seeds to develop and there was real estate so some of them are larger kernels
